Recently, a group member shared photos of an insect he saw in his home in the Facebook group \u201cBreaking News Community\u201d<\/em> and asked, \u201cDoes anyone know what kind of insect this is? It was found in my house.\u201d<\/em> The insect was about the size of his hand, was colored black, and was crawling up the window. It had long, thin legs, long antennas on its head and bottom, and looked very scary. The post attracted 35,000 reactions and more than 6,000 comments from netizens in less than a day!<\/p>\n

According to Wikipedia<\/strong><\/a>, the insect he discovered is the \u201cScutigera Coleoptrata<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>, also known as the House Centipede<\/strong>. It has 15 pairs of legs, and its hind limbs are longer than its forelimbs. With incredible speed, it can climb up walls and ceilings at 42 centimeters per second. However, they prefer running on the floor. Its gross and scary appearance sends goosebumps to people, but it is considered to be beneficial to people\u2019s homes since<\/strong> they feed on spiders, bed bugs, termites, cockroaches, silverfish, ants, and other household arthropods.<\/strong><\/p>\n
