At 61 years old, Michael J. Fox<\/strong><\/em> added a new member into the family. He adopted another dog! Michael made it official by announcing his arrival on his Instagram<\/strong><\/a> account.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, Blue, welcome to your new home!\u201d<\/em> Michael captioned on his post. Blue was welcomed into the family after his beloved furbaby passed away almost 3 years ago.<\/p>\n

Michael lost his beloved dog, Gus<\/strong><\/em>, in 2021 when the furry baby was 12. Gus was with Michael for over 10 years. He was the \u201csecond son\u201d<\/em> and \u201cfifth child\u201d<\/em> who became Michael\u2019s therapy dog<\/strong> when he needed support for his health struggles. Michael J. Fox was diagnosed in 1991 with Parkinson\u2019s Disease when he was 29 years old.<\/strong> Day-to-day activities are still filled with constant struggles for the retired actor.<\/p>\n

Michael had the love and support of his family during these hard times, plus he had his furbaby, Gus.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t rescue Gus. You can argue that he rescued me, but he\u2019d be too modest to make that claim. You know that no matter your situation, no matter what you feel, this animal is with you and is connected to you, and you feel,\u201d<\/em> Michael J. Fox said in an interview with PEOPLE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Michael is full of gratitude for Gus and the emotional support and companionship he provides every day.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour instinct when you have a chronic illness is to sometimes isolate and make your world as small as possible so you don\u2019t have much to deal with, but a dog will open you up,\u201d<\/em> Michael shared with PEOPLE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the mornings, Michael would take Gus for a walk in Central Park, and several passersby would stop to have a chat with them. Michael jokingly said that the people would not stop because of him but because of Gus. Learning of the situation that occurs almost every day at the park, Michael\u2019s wife<\/em>, Tracy Pollan<\/strong><\/em>, gifted the duo with a Central Park bench.<\/p>\n

The sign on the bench reads, \u201cFor Mike Fox and Gus. True New Yorkers.\u201d<\/em> Looking back, it was the greatest gift in memory of Gus when he passed away.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among all the fondest memories the family has of Gus, this one stood out.<\/p>\n

Michael had to undergo surgery on his spinal cord in 2018. The doctors had to remove a tumor, and he had to struggle to walk again. He came home from the hospital in a wheelchair, and his most special friend was waiting for him. That\u2019s right. It was Gus.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe kind of circles the wheelchair with this low kind of woof woof, woof woof, and sat in front of the wheelchair right in front of me, and looked at me, and I said, \u2018It\u2019s going to be okay,\u2019\u201d<\/em> Michael recalled<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, when a beloved furbaby passes away, its hooman parents are devastated. We should take advantage of creating lasting memories with them while they are still alive. Gus\u2019 passing hurt the family a great deal, but it is comforting to realize that Michael\u2019s love for Gus was reciprocated.<\/p>\n

After almost 3 years, Michael is ready to share the love he had for Gus with a new dog. When he welcomed the new member into the family, Michael was not the only one who appreciated the latest furry member. The post has received more than 700k hearts and more than 7k comments.<\/p>\n

Blue<\/strong><\/em> was already loved by people around the world, but he has not met them yet. Most of them noticed his resemblance to the pup Michael worked with in Back to the Future, Einstein<\/em>. Well, that\u2019s the way it is. You give love, you receive love. What goes around, comes around.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
