Dogs are man\u2019s best friend and are smart, considerate, and loyal. Even the most arrogant elders at home reveal they give in when faced with a pet\u2019s affectionate approach.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedodo.com\/close-to-home\/dad-didnt-want-dog-matching-shirts\"><strong>The Dodo<\/strong><\/a> reported that a man from Brazil, <em><strong>Vicinius Carleto<\/strong><\/em>, informed his parents that he was planning to adopt a dog from the shelter nearby. However, he did not expect that his parents would disapprove. Even his <strong>65-year-old father<\/strong> harshly said: <em>\u201cI definitely don\u2019t want a dog at home!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMy dad is old and grumpy, always frowning,\u201d<\/em> Vicinius Carleto joked in an interview.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-496 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic1-32.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"950\" height=\"1300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic1-32.jpg 950w, https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic1-32-219x300.jpg 219w, https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic1-32-748x1024.jpg 748w, https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic1-32-768x1051.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vicinius did not give up on his plan to adopt a dog and decided to approach his mother, who had a gentler nature. Initially, he arranged for his mother to meet the dog named <em>\u201c<strong>Pitoco<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>. As soon as she saw the adorable furry baby, the mother immediately had a change of heart. With his mother finally on his side, Pitoco came home. His dad conceded defeat and was hesitant to accept Pitoco in his house.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe accepted Pitoco but didn\u2019t think much of him,\u201d<\/em> Vicinius said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-497 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic2-31.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"467\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic2-31.jpg 467w, https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic2-31-300x289.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 467px) 100vw, 467px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When his dad first saw Pitoco, he was still reluctant and very cold towards the dog. However, after a few days, Vicinius noticed some small changes with his dad, and what happened next caught him off guard.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEvery time my dad came home stressed from work, he got distracted by the dog and left the stress behind,\u201d<\/em> Vicinius said. <em>\u201cThen, one day, I came home and saw my dad with Pitoco in the yard. They were running around and playing. I never imagined it was possible.\u201d<\/em> Although his father still had mood swings, he mellowed down when he was around Pitoco. \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-498 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic3-29.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic3-29.jpg 597w, https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic3-29-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3 months later, Vicinius realized that his father had become Pitoco\u2019s number 1 fan. He had 2 t-shirts custom-made. The large one had Pitoco\u2019s face printed on it for his father to wear, and the other, a smaller t-shirt with his father\u2019s face printed on it for Pitoco to wear. Initially, it looked like a \u2018Father and Son\u2019 attire, which made Vicinius quite jealous. <em>\u201cI didn\u2019t even have a father-son outfit!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-499 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic4-25.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic4-25.jpg 576w, https:\/\/gtgoodtimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/pic4-25-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although he felt a little envious, Vicinius was happy to see his dad\u2019s transformation. Pitoco has become the most beloved member of their family.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWatching Pitoco change my father. This is a very important starting point for him,\u201d<\/em> Vicinius said. <em>\u201cIt seems dogs understand how we are feeling. And their companionship allows us to escape the daily stresses of life.
