Nothing prepares a human when the heartbreak of losing a dog happens. Most of the time, the pain intensifies, and we just have to bear it. Then, the guilt comes in when we overthink about the loss… if they had everything they needed, or if we were there when they needed us the most. The heartache is inevitable, but there are ways to ease the pain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Mark McCraws<\/strong><\/em> and his wife, Mary<\/strong><\/em>, their grief was comforted when a new rescue dog entered their lives and was just very happy to be with them.<\/p>\n

The McCraws couple was devastated when they lost their beloved dog, Mischka<\/strong><\/em>, to cancer. As they were undergoing the pain of loss, Maggie showed up, and they knew they had to keep her.<\/p>\n

Halfway There Rescue<\/strong><\/a> and the McCraw couple arranged to meet in South Carolina, and their encounter was simply a wonderful experience.<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Dodo<\/strong><\/a>, Mark said: \u201cShe melted my heart. We had lost our other dog a few months prior to meeting Maggie, and this was just a meet and greet in my mind. I didn\u2019t think I was ready for a new dog at the time.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
