Even as a pet owner, we have no way of telling if our beloved furbabies are ill or feeling any discomfort. Through the years, domesticated animals have evolved, especially dogs and cats. Nowadays, they have their own method of hiding their pain or when they are sick. So, you can imagine the hardships stray animals go through when they are ill or feeling under the weather but have no place to go. They are left to fend for themselves.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Discomfort from pain is expected in stray animals when they wander the streets for a long time. Most of them experience an injured paw or two. Worse, their bodies cannot stand the harsh weather and they get sick. However, a smart stray dog decided to seek help from the experts. When the injured dog entered a vet clinic, everybody was surprised, though in a positive way.<\/p>\n

A veterinarian was on shift one ordinary day. Daysa Ferreira da Silva<\/strong><\/em> was at the Vet Vip Clinic<\/strong><\/a> and has just finished with one patient. As she was about to call the next one that was sitting on its owner\u2019s lap across the reception desk, an unexpected visitor walked in and caught her eye.<\/p>\n

The veterinarian was surprised to see a black stray dog enter the clinic. Unsure if help would come, the limping dog stood near the wall, hoping that someone could approach him and notice that he was in pain.<\/p>\n

The clinic staff assumed that the dog was confused and would be on his way. However, the stray dog approached the counter towards Dr. da Silva. She noticed that he was limping, and he stopped midway. She immediately realized he was in pain when he stopped and stood near the clinic wall.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he came in, he put the injured paw forward, as if to say hello and to show that he was hurting,\u201d<\/em> Dr. da Silva said in an interview with The Dodo<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cWe were surprised because he knew where to ask for help.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The sympathetic vet did not hesitate to approach the injured stray dog and showed him the way where he could get help. In that instant, his trust in the female doctor was no doubt. Additionally, the heartwarming moment was caught on the clinic\u2019s CCTV camera.<\/p>\n

Once they were inside the clinic\u2019s operating room, the vet prepared to examine his injured paw. Trusting her, he immediately gave in, and after thoroughly inspecting his paw, she breathed a sigh of relief. Turned out that it was nothing serious. Even so, she decided to give his health a thorough check. Her suspicion was correct. Dra. da Silva discovered something in the stray dog\u2019s health that was more serious.<\/p>\n

The stray dog was diagnosed with a \u201ctransmissible venereal tumor<\/a>\u201d<\/em>. It is a small cancerous tumor that forms cauliflower-like masses in the genital area of a dog. However, the vet is relieved to know that it is curable and very common in dogs after breeding.<\/p>\n

If the stray dog did not enter the clinic for a check-up, who knows what would have happened to him in the streets? He would probably never have a chance to have a second life. However, the result of the dog\u2019s health examination worried Dr. da Silva. She immediately confined him to the animal hospital for a 30-day treatment to heal his wounds and undergo chemotherapy. Fortunately, he tolerated them all perfectly well.<\/p>\n

Weeks passed, and Quindim<\/strong><\/em>, as Dr. da Silva fondly named the adorable dog, was progressing perfectly, and his health was getting better.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t even look sick. He just is so excited to be around people who care about him,\u201d<\/em> Dr. da Silva said. However, the best was still to come.<\/p>\n

Dr. da Silva shared the video<\/strong><\/a> of Quindim\u2019s entrance, which the CCTV camera recorded, on their Facebook page. Soon, the story of the stray dog that entered the clinic to ask for help became viral on the internet. Before long, he became famous.<\/p>\n

The clinic received numerous inquiries about Quindim\u2019s adoption. At the moment, he was no longer a stray dog. He was about to be gifted a forever home. Quindim\u2019s precious life was no longer hanging in the balance. A single visit from a prospective parent met his happy ending. One year after the incident, Vet Vip Clinic reminisced about it on their Instagram<\/strong><\/a> profile.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe day he conquered the world!<\/em> \ud83d\ude0d Today, he is full of love and cuddles with his family. Quindim has gained weight and is showing good health,\u201d<\/em> they wrote.<\/p>\n

Fortunately for his parents, Quindim already knows where to go for a thorough examination whenever something goes wrong with his health.<\/p>\n
