A Pit Bull who was Returned to the Shelter Falls Devastated and Completely Shuts Down

Just when you think things are getting better, they turn out for the worse in ways you did not expect. More often than not, you will have to start all over again, hoping things will end up better than before.

When he heard that a better life out in the world was calling his name and his life in the ACCT Philly was over, March, a Pit Bull mix, became the happiest dog ever! However, life took a sudden turn of events when his adoption fell through. His happiness was cut short when March realized he was being returned to the shelter.

The unexpected situation took its toll on the poor doggy.

March began to feel depressed and totally shut down when he was brought back to the kennel. He would sit in the corner facing the gray shelter wall and turn himself away from everyone. However, his luck suddenly changed.

Dawn Timmeney, a local news reporter, spotted March alone and very sad in his kennel. She knew she had to help the poor doggy. She resorted to her Facebook page and let everybody know what an amazing dog March is. She wrote:

“…I’d be a great running buddy. Imagine all the compliments you’ll get when people say, ‘Where’d you get that great-looking dog?’ Bring the family down for a meet-and-greet, and who knows … I could be running with you before March turns to April.”

Dawn’s post instantly went viral, and soon, great news arrived! ACCT Philly immediately shared on their Facebook page that March is finally saved!

They clarified in their post that March had not found a forever home yet but was transferred to one of their anonymous rescue partners. Additionally, they assured everyone online that March is safe now with a very highly regarded local group that can ensure his adoption through their no-euthanasia sanctuary.

Realizing his good fortune, March was filled with happiness! He was very excited to begin his life with people who would shower him with love and provide him with lots of belly rubs and cuddles.

Such great news for March and the shelter! ACCT Philly now has an empty kennel for another dog in need, and it will serve only as a temporary home for the new fur baby.

Research done by the ASPCA revealed that 3.1 million dogs across the U.S. enter a shelter annually.

Remember: every animal shelter needs all the space and helping hands they can get. If you intend to keep a pet, please head down to the nearest shelter and bring a smile to a dog’s face by adopting them or fostering them until they find a forever home. They deserve our kindness and love. #AdoptNotShop
