Bradley Cooper Admits He Still Lives with His Mother and Feels No Shame About It

Every person who turns 18 is (usually) required to leave their parents’ house and live their own lives, getting a job and a place to stay. More often than not, you get judged by people when you still live in your parents’ home when you are over 18. Sadly, they do not realize that there are deeper reasons why some individuals still choose to live with their parents even when they are adults.

49-year-old Hollywood celebrity Bradley Cooper still lives with his mother, and he is not shy in letting it be known. Although he is one of the most famous and iconic actors today, he had no plans of moving out, even when success came to him from all around. Bradley was close to his parents. He had his first media exposure with the help of his mother, Gloria Campano. At the time, she was an NBC affiliate for the local news.

Following in his mother’s footsteps, Bradley worked at the Philadelphia Daily News. In 2009, he appeared in Todd Phillip’s comedy The Hangover, his first role in a film. Just when his career as an actor was beginning to soar, he decided to put everything on hold when he learned about his father’s illness. Bradley’s father, Charles Cooper, was diagnosed with lung cancer, and his condition was quickly deteriorating.

Bradley returned to his parents’ home to tend to his ailing father. However, after 5 months of fighting the battle, Charles passed away. His passing took a toll on his surviving family, and Bradley described the situation as “brutal.” Additionally, he said the “aftershock” of his father’s passing never diminished.

Bradley comforted his mother, and she needed the emotional support. He then convinced his mother to live with him in his home in Los Angeles. The impact of his father’s passing made them realize that it is important to spend quality time with family all the time.

“But don’t get me wrong. It’s not without complications. It’s not like I live in a compound, and she’s in the guesthouse. No. She’s in the next room,” the actor said in an interview. “She could roll with the punches.”

Gloria stayed with the Guardians of the Galaxy actor during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bradley ensured his mother was always close by, making her his plus-one whenever he attended important events on or off-screen.

In 2014, Julia Roberts closed the Oscars by saying goodnight to Gloria specifically. She also partied with the stars after the Golden Globe ceremony. Gloria Campano was iconic. She worked alongside Bradley for a T-Mobile’s Super Bowl Commercial. In one instance, she struck at her son’s acting skills.

In the commercial, Gloria shared some acting skills with Bradley, to which he cheekily responded that he knows what he is doing since he was nominated for various awards 9 times. Gloria bluntly replied, “You haven’t won any.”

The mother-son relationship between Gloria and Bradley has made us realize the importance of family bonds. Independence and convenience may be great things to possess. However, when you reach a certain age, time is something you realize, and it is all you have left.

It is best to spend a lot of quality time with family. Life is short and worth spending time with people we love and who love us in return.
