The owner of a shed wondered every day why the table he left messy the night before was tidy, and all the stuff was neatly placed in a box. Who would enter a shed late at night to clean up his table? The owner could not help but imagine there was an elf helping him clean up his mess.
Stephen Mckears, a 72-year-old British man, recently discovered the “elf” on a video captured by a hidden camera. It has been sneaking into his shed and tidying his table in the dead of night. The mysterious desk cleaner takes its time to put things in order, keeping it neat and tidy the next day.
Before the discovery, Stephen was left bewildered when he entered his garden shed every morning to find it in order. He thought to himself, “Who else could enter the shed besides myself? Is there really an elf who thinks my desk is too messy and is secretly helping me?” One day, he deliberately messed up his table with tools, and the next morning, he found them neatly placed inside the box!
This left Stephen astonished! So, he resorted to his neighbor, Rodney Holbrook, an experienced wildlife photographer, who installed a hidden camera on the table in Stephen’s work shed. They were prepared to catch the mysterious desk cleaner on video.
As expected, they soon discovered the truth. The mysterious “housekeeping elf” turned out to be a mouse! The little critter was captured on video returning each tool inside the box. Although it took some time to arrange all the tools, it carried one thing at a time and placed them inside the box. Some of the tools were quite heavy for the mouse to carry, but it managed to tidy up the table.
Stephen admitted that initially, he suspected a ghost cleaning his table, and he was beginning to believe, until the video revealed the true benevolent “ghost”. After the discovery caught on video, the 2 men were left astounded. “What an amazingly hard-working mouse!”
From their observation, Stephen and Rodney assumed the “cleaner” probably works between 8:00 PM and 3:00 AM every day. Stephen recalled that the worker had been cleaning every night for a month.
When the video of the mouse cleaning the garden shed table was released online, it instantly went viral and was shared on various social media platforms. Netizens found it magical and very interesting:
