Everyone assumes that only princes in fairy tales are handsome. It may be true, but in the real world, there are also members of the Royal Family whose good looks are incomparable. Additionally, they are famously wealthy. A Qatari prince has gained fame not only for being rich, but also due to his luxurious lifestyle while attending a university in the United States. When news about his life as a student went viral online, it aroused heated discussions among netizens.
Qatari Prince Khalifa bin Hamad comes from one of the wealthiest families in the Middle East, the “Al Thani Royal Family”. His parents are the famous former Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned. The young prince belongs to house Thani, and his father alone, the former Emir of Qatar, is worth US$2.1 billion!
Such a luxurious background made the young prince’s mother a significant figure in investment in high-quality brands from various countries. His sister is a chairman of the Qatar Museum, and his brother is a former prime minister. His youngest brother takes part in their family business. The Al Thani family has a good background. Prince Khalifa served as an official in the Qatari security department for a limited time and spent most of his life traveling to other countries.
According to the online news website “Daily Mail”, the young prince attracted most of the media’s attention when he became a student at a prestigious university in Los Angeles, California. Initially, he was uninterested in studying abroad until his mother encouraged him with a “recommendation” from the Prince of Wales. Word spread around that the prince was criticized by people as being suspected of giving huge donations to be admitted to universities. However, the rumor faded when Prince Khalifa showed so much interest in his classes when he entered the school.
Prince Khalifa began studying at Los Angeles Mission College, a community college, in 2011. However, his handlers sought to get him accepted into UCLA. They next sought to get him into the University of Southern California (USC). After meeting with his mother and the university’s president, Prince Khalifa was accepted into the university as a transfer student. While an undergraduate student, he was reported to have been allowed to skip classes due to suspicious “security reasons”. He hired a doctoral student to be his tutor outside of class, but the tutor only helped him with homework and answered the questions provided by the professor.
The prince took his master’s degree online, gaining a “special dispensation” from USC to study remotely. However, during the time he was enrolled for his master’s, social media photos showed the prince attending a handful of military exercises as well as vacationing in France, the UK, Monaco, and Algeria. It was also reported that a professor allowed him to submit a report paper late. When the prince’s handlers submitted the final paper to the professor, it also contained a Rolex watch, which the professor refused to accept. He insisted the professor take it and said, “What I gave away will never be returned.”
During his stay in Los Angeles as a university student, the wealthy Qatari prince lived in the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the same hotel in the movie Pretty Woman. He often goes to Las Vegas, Nevada, to gamble and spends a whooping US$300,000! He owns a fleet of supercars, such as Bentleys, Bugattis, and Ferraris, among others. He was also seen spending US$90,000 to rent a luxury room for 12 people to watch the Lakers at an NBA game. He is close friends with Scott Disick from Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Prince Khalifa has 1.1 million followers on Instagram, and he often posts his daily fun activities, such as traveling, fishing, skiing, and racing cars, among others. It seems the young prince is not hesitant to squander away some money just to live a luxurious life.
Moreover, Prince Khalifa is also very fond of wildlife, ranging from tigers and eagles to horses.
His choices of outfits are also quite lavish. He owns several high-end Richard Mille watches, which come in different colors for several of his outfits.
In 2015, Prince Khalifa returned to the Middle East and joined Qatar’s internal security service.
