(Maceió, June 13) – A 9-year-old boy from Brazil has taken the internet by storm after videos of him riding a pig to school went viral. The pig, impressively fast, reaches the school gate in under a minute, leaving viewers worldwide both amused and amazed. The boy, Gutinho, lives in the rural area of Girau do Ponciano in northeastern Brazil. From a young age, he has loved being around animals and surprisingly taught himself how to train pigs.
He trained the family’s sow, nicknamed “Foguete” (Portuguese for “Rocket”), to become his personal ride. Each day, Gutinho dons a helmet and rides Rocket along a muddy path to school, creating a hilarious and heartwarming scene.
His mother, Ana, shared that he’s always loved animals and dreamed of being a rider, just like his older brothers who once rode animals while herding cattle. “But among all four of my kids, Gutinho is the best at training animals—the pig only lets him ride it,” she said. Gutinho also gets along well with dogs and can ride donkeys.
His mom regularly posts videos of his pig rides on Instagram, some of which have garnered over 50 million views. Now a mini internet celebrity, Gutinho has over 1.2 million followers, with his brothers helping film and Ana managing the account.
