Beautiful Mama Dog Hopes to Find Her Forever Home While Waiting in a Shelter for 3 Years

Dogs that live in shelters hope that one day, a family will adopt them and take them to their forever home. These wonderful beings deserved to be loved due to their loyalty and their unwavering love for their families. They want to feel safe in their family’s embrace. However, some dogs feel disappointed when potential families visit the shelter and pass them by without a second glance. They assume that they are invisible since they are often overlooked by shelter visitors.

Despite being ignored, these adorable furbabies never lose hope that one day, they will be adopted by a wonderful family who will shower them with all the love they deserve. A beautiful mama dog named Kylie is one of the shelter pups who knows how it feels to be overlooked by potential parents. Although she has felt disappointed many times, she still hopes that one day, her adoptive family will walk through the shelter door.

Kylie used to live on a farm, and her life was great. She had a family who loved and cared for her even after she got pregnant. However, as time passed, Kylie got pregnant again, and since she was older, the pregnancy was getting more difficult she needed a C-section delivery. Unfortunately, Kylie’s family couldn’t afford it, so they decided to surrender her to the Spokane Humane Society in Washington. The family wanted Kylie to have the best medical care she needed.

A few months passed, and the beautiful mama dog gave birth to healthy puppies who ended up getting adopted and being in forever homes. However, Kylie did not get much luck with potential parents who visited the shelter. Every day, she wondered why her former family left her. In her silence, it was evident that she missed them and hoped to see them again soon. The shelter staff noticed this and felt sad for the adorable mama dog since nobody was interested in adopting her.

One day, the staff decided to transfer Kylie to another shelter in another city, hoping she would have better luck in a new environment. The Spokane shelter transferred Kylie to the Benton-Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, Washington. One of the volunteers at the new shelter instantly fell in love with the mother pup. Julie gave Kylie so much love and care and would play with her most of the day.

Kylie and the other residents of the shelter would feel excited when the volunteers arrived and would play with them. “She’s so excited! Otherwise, they are stuck in their kennels usually for around 22 hours a day,” Julie said.

As soon as Kylie hears the staff and volunteers approaching her kennel, she greets them carrying a toy in her mouth. Her tail would wag with excitement, and her eyes would sparkle with so much love for them. The staff and volunteers understood that this was her way of saying she was very excited to play with them. Julie loves seeing Kylie smile. She could see through the mama dog’s eyes how happy she was when she was near. Julie often surprises Kylie with a new toy she buys on her way to the shelter.

Before Kylie was surrendered by her former family to the shelter, she lived on a farm where she used to interact with various animals. However, after spending 3 years at the shelter, Kylie’s behavior changed, and she no longer wanted to hang out with the other residents. Julie assumed that her behavior towards other animals was the obstacle in finding Kylie a new home.

“I think that is 90% of the reason why she hasn’t found a home because most animal lovers have a dog or a cat. So, to find someone that fits Kylie’s needs is really tough,” she said. However, Kylie is full of joy whenever she spends time with other people. Julie introduced her to her nieces, and the sweet mother pup enjoyed playing with them.

Julie believes that Kylie has a lot of love to provide for her potential family. All she needs is to be given a chance. As of late, the shelter has “a huge pet overpopulation problem”. “It would be difficult to find a foster for Kylie,” Julie said in an interview with GeoBeats Animals.

The shelter staff and volunteers believe that someday, Kylie will find a wonderful family who will provide her with a forever home. The adorable mama dog will be very happy to leave the shelter and settle herself with a family who will shower her with the love and affection she deserves.

We hope Kylie will find her happily ever after very soon. We love to see the beautiful mama dog smile. Just like all loyal furbabies, Kylie deserves to have a forever home and be embraced with infinite affection and love. ❤️
