It is very touching to learn that celebrities step down from the limelight once in a while to shed light on matters that need to be recognized. Such as a moment when stars willingly go on a “dream date” with rescue dogs that The Dodo initiated, so these adorable pups have the opportunity to find forever homes.
In a YouTube video that has since gone viral, Marvel star Scarlett Johansson takes a 12-year-old rescued pittie mix named Ocean for a day of well-deserved treatment and bonding.
Scarlett Johansson, who formerly portrayed Black Widow in the Marvel MCU movies, showed her more tender side when it came to dogs. When she and Ocean first met, the connection was immediate. Ocean greeted Scarlett with much enthusiasm like a long-lost friend, and the celebrity’s response was heartwarming! Scarlett’s gesture sends a message that beneath the Hollywood glam lifestyle is genuine kindness. She even brought stuffed roses for the pup.
Initially, Ocean was living in an overcrowded shelter, then was rescued by NYC’s Muddy Paws Rescue. The gentle elderly pup deserved a dream date and enjoyed a day of pampering and being treated like a queen.
“So far, the date has been going really well with Ocean,” Scarlett said in a video with The Dodo. “At first, we were both a little shy and a little bit sort of nervous to meet each other, and then I have to say that she warmed up almost immediately, and we’re just getting to know each other now.”
The unforgettable moment between Scarlett and Ocean took place in Scarlett’s skincare brand office, The Outset. Excitement filled the air while the team waited for the arrival of Ocean, the day’s true superstar. The celebrity’s heartwarming gesture of introducing Ocean to everyone showed her respect and love for rescue animals.
In between fun and games, Scarlett decided to treat Ocean to a day of spa. It was the most memorable “Dodo Dream Date.” Ocean enjoyed a dog smoothie, a mani-pedi, and other dog-friendly products offered. Of course, a spa treatment would not be complete without the usual cucumber over the eyes. However, while Scarlett attempted to place them over Ocean’s eyes, the adorable pup had other plans with them by eating the cucumbers. 😆
The instant bond that connected Scarlett and Ocean revealed the pup’s irresistible charm, making her more appealing to potential fur parents.
The ever-spirited soul pup received lots of hugs, snuggles, and kisses from the actress. Scarlett’s fondness for Ocean grew as their day unfolded, prompting her to wonder why Ocean had not found her forever home yet. However, Scarlett believed that Ocean would be adopted sooner than expected.
“I don’t think you’re going to have any problem finding a forever home because you’re exceptionally adorable, very cuddly, and that’s what we’re all looking for,” Scarlett told Ocean. She has 2 rescued pups as well, Maggie and Pancake.
Scarlett Johansson is an advocate for rescue animals, and her journey led her to adopt 2 dogs. She highly encourages others to consider adopting rescues and providing them with a forever home.
A few days after their “spa date,” Ocean was adopted and found her forever home! She now has a loving family who can provide her with a beautiful life and give her all the love she deserves. ❤️
