A 23-year-old female passenger changed into a uniform resembling that of a flight attendant and used the fast track to board a Batik Air flight from Palembang to Jakarta.

Indonesia’s Kompas newspaper reported on the 7th that the woman claimed she was one of the cabin crew members. Her act of impersonating a flight attendant was fully captured by netizens.
According to videos shared on Instagram, the woman wore a flight attendant uniform and even carried a Batik Air cabin crew academy ID. In reality, she had purchased a regular passenger ticket.

Because she possessed a valid boarding pass, she was able to board the aircraft without issue. However, when on-duty cabin crew questioned her, she hesitated and failed to give answers consistent with professional flight attendants.

When the aircraft landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s Terminal 2, airport security officers were already waiting. Upon being questioned again about her identity and reason for wearing the uniform, she insisted she was cabin crew and showed her “ID,” prompting the airline to hand the case over to airport police.
Jakarta airport police confirmed that investigations revealed the suspect had previously applied to become a flight attendant but failed. Feeling ashamed to face her family and wanting to appear employed as cabin crew, she decided to disguise herself.
Police also found that the uniform was purchased online and that she had already changed into it before arriving at Palembang Airport.
