In 2022, the Facebook page “Animal Meme Planet” shared photos that caught netizens’ eyes. A man was standing on the roadside, pushing a white stroller with a transparent cylindrical glass tube on it. Inside were several fish swimming around the glass tank. Curious passersby could not help staring at the unusual stroller!
Some people recognized the man pushing the glass stroller. He was Huang Xiaojie, a popular handyman YouTuber. He recorded himself making his “glass fish stroller.” He mentioned in the video that the design originated in Japan. The tank is used to transport various fish, and he designed it to make them look “fresh.” The design is unusually different from regular pets that owners use to walk their furbabies.
Huang Xiaojie also mentioned in the video that he used acrylic tubes with a diameter of 25 centimeters to make the mobile fish tank and installed filters and air pumps to provide the fish with a comfortable environment. However, he said that not all types of fish are suitable for walking. If they are the sensitive or irritable type, and they tend to rush around when they are nervous, it will cause harm to them and damage the tank.
The stroller is also specially designed with cup holders and a platform where bags can be placed so Huang Xiaojie can use it as a multi-purpose transporter. In the video, you will see Huang Xiaojie pushing the stroller and having a picnic at a park, going shopping at Qinmei Eslite, and going to the night market when the evening comes. Many passersby stopped to take some photos of the mobile fish tank. Some just stopped to admire the unique fish stroller.
One netizen admired the unusual creation and said, “As a fish lover, I think it’s awesome!!! I see other people walking their dogs, cats, and even rabbits outside, but I can’t walk fish. I hope it can be mass-produced one day and see people walking their fish outside of their homes. 😆”
